BULLETPROOF: Meet Etta!

Hello everyone! Welcome to Blonde Girl Writing Blog, where I share about faith, writing, and reading.

Today, I want to introduce you to the main character from my novel, BULLETPROOF!

"I don't like be told what to do." Etta Étienne

Estelle Étienne, also known as Etta, is a sixteen-year-old girl who lives in a tight-knit community in modern-day America.

Etta has tan skin, wavy brown hair, and olive-green eyes. She hates showing emotion or letting anyone into her heart, because she has lost so many people already. Etta loves inventing and building things from scraps, and also enjoys math because of how practical it is.

Etta and her father, Beau, are outcasts in their community, called "rellies" and scorned for a God they no longer believe in. When Etta was eleven, her mother and brother--Margot and Henri--were arrested after being framed for a crime they didn't commit. Beau was forced to renounce God or also be arrested, leaving Etta alone. Ever since then, he has been a distant father, forcing Etta to grow up fast in order to take care of herself.

Etta is a loner because she has to be--most kids her age either bully her or avoid her like being a "relly" is contagious. She works at a small gas station for long hours with little pay, since they owner was the only person willing to hire her. Etta hopes to finish high school early, in order to move away from the community to go to college with a fresh start.

So, let me know below: what do you think about Etta? Do you have any questions about her?

Also, my blog survey and raffle might be over, but I will be posting the winner soon! Stay tuned so you can learn who wins!

Best wishes,

Jonah
